Dietetics Graduate Program, MPH
The Consortium of Eastern Ohio Master of Public Health (CEOMPH) program is a partnership between The University of Akron, Cleveland State University, Northeastern Ohio Medical University, and Youngstown State University.
The Dietetic GP MPH program track provides students the opportunity to gain knowledge as well as clinical experience in three main areas: food service administration, medical nutrition therapy, and community nutrition. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Degrees for students enrolled at The University of Akron are granted by The University of Akron. The Consortium of Eastern Ohio Master of Public Health program is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health.
Admission Requirements
Prerequisite courses include: CHEM 114 Introduction to General, Organic & Biochemistry (Lecture); CHEM 115 Introduction to General, Organic & Biochemistry (Laboratory); STAT 260 Basic Statistics; BIOL 130 Principles of Microbiology; ANAT 206 Applied Human Anatomy & Physiology I; ANAT 210 Applied Human Anatomy & Physiology Lab I; ANAT 207 Applied Human Anatomy & Physiology II; ANAT 211 Applied Human Anatomy & Physiology Lab II; NUTR 133 Nutrition Fundamentals or equivalents.
In addition, students must hold a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. accredited college or university upon entry into the program. Students will be directly admitted to the Dietetics Graduate Program (GP) MPH Program as first-year students. Admission will be based on college academic performance, faculty assessments, graduate school admittance, and interviews. Students will be expected to maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better to remain in the program.
