Sculpture, Minor

Minor in Sculpture

The Sculpture Minor provides an introduction to a variety of technical, formal and conceptual approaches that enable students to develop their individual artistic concerns through sculpture. Students explore the possibilities of contemporary sculpture through lecture, demonstration and - most importantly - making. Material exploration, problem solving and the development of critical thinking skills are emphasized and students are encouraged to integrate their other academic and research interests into their sculptural practice.

The minor requirements consist of 18 credits which include introductory, intermediate and advanced sculpture courses as well as Installation Art and a choice of introductory classes in Jewelry & Metalsmithing or Ceramics.

Requirements for Admission
