The College of Engineering and Polymer Science’s cooperative education program, one of the oldest in the nation, enables students in qualifying majors offered by the College to integrate classroom learning with on-the-job experience while they earn their degrees. Students enrolled in this certificate program can alternate semesters of paid employment in their major fields of interest with semesters of study towards their Bachelor of Science degree. 

Students must earn this certificate at the same time as a Bachelor of Science degree offered by the College of Engineering and Polymer Science.  Students are eligible to start the required cooperative education work terms when they have successfully completed the first half of the junior year core classes required for their program.

The following information has official approval of The College of Engineering and Polymer Science, but is intended only as a guide. Completion of this certificate is contingent upon many factors, including but not limited to: class availability, total number of required credits, work schedule, finances, family, course drops/withdrawals, successfully passing courses, prerequisites, among others.
