TESOL Endorsement for K-12 Teachers, Certificate
This certificate is a fully online, asynchronous program for those with a K-12 teaching license who wish to add a TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) endorsement onto that teaching license.
The program is designed to engage students in teaching theory and teaching strategies to effectively instruct K-12 students whose first language is other than English.
Graduate students must apply for the certificate program through the Graduate School. A minimum grade point average of 2.75 is required. Passage of the Ohio Assessment for Educator state assessment entitled "Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages" (OAE #021) is required in order to apply for and obtain the state licensure endorsement.

Any student who wishes to add the Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) on their existing K-12 Ohio Teaching license must 1.) take and pass the OAE assessment 021, 2.) apply to the Ohio Department of Education to add the license to their existing teaching license
