Applied Politics, Certificate
The Certificate in Applied Politics focuses on practical politics and experiential learning. It is designed for graduate students interested in election campaigns, digital strategy and messaging, fundraising, managing organizations, government relations, civic engagement, and other political activities. Believing that democracy is best served by having active and informed citizens, the certificate is open to all students, no matter what their degree program.
Enrollment status as full-time or part-time, special, or non-degree in any department of the University. Students who are pursuing a graduate degree in other departments at the University of Akron may be admitted to the certificate program upon the recommendation of the chair/director of the department/school in which they are enrolled. The student shall schedule courses with the consultation of the applied politics advisor.
Requirements
Students must complete 18 total credits consisting of core courses, elective courses, and internship credits.
