Health Care Administration managers work closely with clinical and administrative staff as they process, analyze and report information vital to the delivery of health care. Through our program, students will gain knowledge and experience in both the clinical and business sides of health care.

The Bachelor of Health Care Administration degree allows new students and those holding an Associate of Applied Science degree to earn a bachelor's degree, often a requirement to move into supervisory or management roles. 

The Health Care Administration degree can be customized to match your specific career objectives. There are alternate pathways for those just starting their career in health care, as well as specialized studies for individuals who are looking to advance their current health care careers. Program Description

Health Care Administration graduates work closely with clinical, administrative, and support staff as they manage personnel and processes vital to the efficient and thorough delivery of health care. Through our program, you will gain knowledge and experience essential for health care professionals in both the clinical and health system management side of health care.

The student will also gain a unique understanding of the institutional and regulatory factors that are necessary to manage and lead in complex health care organizations.

The Bachelor of Health Care Administration program allows new students and those holding an associate degree to earn a bachelor's degree, which is a requirement to move into supervisory or management roles.

The program also leverages the training the student has gained through their associate degree and previous clinical practice, to focus uniquely on those skills required for clinicians to transition into a leadership or managerial role.

Requirements for Admission 

Admission to the University of Akron. 

The following information has official approval of The Department of Allied Health and The College of Health and Human Sciences, but is intended only as a supplemental guide. Official degree requirements are established at the time of transfer and admission to the degree-granting college. Students should refer to the Degree Progress Report (Stellic) which is definitive for graduation requirements. Completion of this degree within the identified time frame below is contingent upon many factors, including but not limited to: class availability, total number of required credits, work schedule, finances, family, course drops/withdrawals, successfully passing courses, prerequisites, among others. The transfer process is completed through an appointment with your academic advisor.
